I agree. This is a great bar. I watched in amazement as Murray made took 15 minutes to make the most intricate masterpiece of a mint julep I’ve ever seen. I ordered a whiskey soda which, though tasty, does not take that much skill to make.

Do you happen to know Murray’s favorite drink?

See, now there’s a “Seattle Trivia” piece of information I have got to learn before my life is complete.

I don’t know his favorite, but I know one of his specialties, The Chas. I think it’s off the menu now, but it’s bourbon, amaretto, benedictine, cointreau, and orange curacao.

I’m a bourbon drinker myself, so I like the Chas, old-fashioneds, something Murray makes called a Red Hook, and mint juleps.

If you’re in the mood for a refreshing summer cocktail, try a South Side with a splash of champagne.
