I lived in Townsville for almost 2 years, it was the worst 2 years of my life and I still suffer the scars from my experiences there.

good rest-spot
car broke down and some local Townsville’ians were helpful and kindly held find a hotel overlooking the crazy park. A good place to rest up overnight and travel on.
Maybe they don’t like kittens? ;-)
