wow that’s so amazing that you were there this summer, too. i was there in the beginning of september. i stayed in a hostel in oslo for 5 days and got an oslo pass and just did as much stuff that was included in that as possible. i am in love with oslo. seriously. as for the munch museum: the way it was laid out made the exiting so surprising. like you come around that bend and step thru the glass door thinking there’s more after that, only to realize that not only isn’t there, but you are unable to backtrack and linger over things. i actually had a real dilemma because i had to pee right after i got into the exhibit, and to do this meant exiting, going downstairs, then having to go through security again to re-enter, and having my barcode not work again to get in through the initial glass doors…. awkward. felt like an annoying american. but yes, it was so very very cool to see the vampyr in person, though seeing the madonna in person at the national gallery brought tears to my eyes. that was always one of my very favorite paintings and in person it had so very much power. did you see the national gallery? was the ‘kiss the frog’ exhibit going on when you were there? what a small world you and i live in!
