Just say no to Starbucks!
Luckily Costa Rica’s two biggest money makers are coffee and tourists visiting the rainforests and beaches! Most of the rainforests and tropical areas are heavily protected and the government prohibits anything that might endanger the beautiful land!
I know you don’t mean it literally… but one of my favorite things about living in CR for 15 months was there isn’t a Starbucks in the whole country!

The coffee's better in CR anyhow...
Just knowing that Brazil and other countries keep mowing down new sections of forest for cattle and development drives me nuts. Knowing that CR has made a strong economy out of little more that tourism, coffee and bananas should be a model for other rainforested places around the world.
