We were passing by on the way home south, and after checking the tides, drove along the causeway. The skies were threatening rain, so we walked up to Lindisfarne Castle and admired its outline against a sombre sky. It was strange thinking that in just a few hours the tide would sweep in and cut the island off from the mainland.
