Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Take the duck tour! The ducks are WWII vechicles that go from land to water, so you ride around looking at Sun Recoreds, the Lorraine Motel, Beale Street and all the other must see landmarks then drive into the water to take a spin around Mud Island. As a native Tennessean who has been to Memphis many times, this was my favorite way of seeing the town!

Inland Ducks

The list showed several “inland” cities with Duck Tours. Austin stuck out in my mind. I think that there was also a city in Tennessee, Chatanooga maybe.

I guess there must be some nice lakes or rivers near some of these towns to float in.

Duck tours seem like a pretty good fit in some of the more water-centric areas like Seattle, San Diego, or the Bay Area. A few of the destinations left me to wonder a bit. I guess they’re making money at it or they wouldn’t be doing it.

The duck tour boat is designed to be amphibious, so it makes sense (and is fun!) to do the plunge at the end of the tour. At the same time, one thing I liked about the tour was the relaxed feeling of the experience: everyone gets duck horns to “quack” at passerbys, etc.
