Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Magnificent Mile is technically not in River North, however, many River North places are listed on the Mag Mile website, which I used to enter in a bunch of restuarants and bars.

Therefore instead of reporting a problem with entries and having them moved out of Mag Mile into River North or Streeterville, I think we should leave them in. Also Mag Mile should stay within River North because of that crossover of places.

Also, some straight up Streeterville places are here under Mag Mile as well, let’s leave the food and drink places as well as artsy fartsy galleries and museums in here.

Where the drunken haze of the Mag Mile ends, no one knows for sure, but damnit it’s not even a mile long anyways so it can be thicker on the sides…

My starting point for entries was http://themagnificentmile.com Dining & Nightlife section.

Lets say the 43P Mag Mile boundaries are Oak Street, Clark, Columbus and the Chicago River.

sites of chicago

Yes you should as Streeterville, River North, Gold Coast and The Loop are the heart and soul of Chicago. You should also check out Pilsen, Wicker Park and Uptown.

Streeterville has the Navy Pier, The Magnificent Mile and lots of bars.

Gold Coast has John Hancock Center, many bar in the Rush St area and a lot of cool architecture.

River North has some very cool architecture, nightlife and music. Pizzeria Uno is the birthplace of Chicago Style Pizza so you should get some there, but know that Giordano’s has perfected it as they change the recipe from year to year and Uno’s does it the original way from the 1940s.

Uptown has the gem of the Jazz days, Al Capones hangout the Green Mill where many jazz people hung out.

Pilsen is a great art community filled with many interesting people.

Wicker Park is the most famous visual hipster hangout, you can see it all over the film High Fidelity.

The Loop has everything else you ever wanted to see in Chicago… the Sears Tower, Grant Park, the Museum Campus, Millennium Park and much much more.

Search for Chicago on Lists of Bests I have made many many lists of sites, sculptures , mobster tours ,etc in the year I lived there.

Thanks for the follow-up..

you have great quirky reommendations!
Also, I see that you have a list of Calder’s works. You might like to add one that I happened upon by chance while visiting the Cote D’Azur this past June. http://www.43places.com/places/view/1592573
It’s located next to the pool at Colombe D’Or in St. Paul De Vence.
