Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I visited Plymouth Rock with Mrs. Viii in 1984. I was really excited to see it. I mean, after all I had been hearing about it since grade school. I had never seen a picture of it, so in my mind I had envisioned a grand outcropping of rock onto which the Pilgrims first set foot.

I must admit that I was a little bit disappointed to see how small it was. It was not at all like I had imagined.

I’ll bet that they have to tie it down at night to keep people from stealing it. :-)

For all we know, somebody did steal the thing years ago, and the powers that be just said, “go get us another rock before somebody finds out. Matter of fact, go put some of those moon rocks out there, stupid things arent good for anything else!”

I Think You Might Have a Point

LOL

It’s such a tiny rock. In all honesty if I were making landfall in the New World I wouldn’t have stepped on it. I would have worried that it might tip while I’m standing on it and I’d twist my ankle. :-)

That would be a real bummer way to start off your big adventure on a new continent. :-)

From the way you describe it, it should be Plymouth Pebble, not Plymouth Rock.
