Worth visiting!

Sunset...I live out here in the Fog!!

There was at time I thought people were crazy to live in the Sunset district. It was always Foggy, so in the Summer it was grey, in the Winter it was grey, and seemed like all year long it was grey. But..Having lived here now for over five years I have come to love the fog in the Summer time, because I know when the East bay has temperatures over 100 its a nice cool 65 here. In the winter, it gets a bit colder, but hey—better than snow!! My Uncles bought a house out here, and though its sold now, I still enjoy living out here. All of the older generation of my family are gone now…but I still have great memories of them being out here in the Sunset. It sure beats the mice and coachroach infestion called the Haight Ashburry where I lived for ten years. Though it was cool place to visit, I like the quiet better out here in the aves.
And…they even allow pets out here. Not only that there are a number of great Asian restaurants popping up out here…and I love eating Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Korean dishes. Sure glad I moved out here, even with the fog.

I've stayed in that neighborhood

There was a good Chinese restaurant that served brown rice, and a Chinese bakery. You probably lived right near my friends.

And it’s so close to the Park!

A funny story about "Brown Rice"

I know its very healthy for you, far more so then white rice. I once asked a Japanese friend if I could be served Brown Rice in Japan… He told me, that Brown rice is fed to Chickens and not served in Japan and most of Asia, so, he said with a straight face ” If you want good brown rice, order the chicken..its Healthy!!!”

I've heard this too

When my mom was growing up in Argentina, only the more refined foods were prefered. Ironically, now we know, the more refined something is (sugar, rice, flour) the worse it is for you—it’s completely been stripped of its nutrients.

I think they’re starting to come around though. We can always hope.

It was

but at the time I was commuting to Santa Clara (an hour from San Fran) but it took an additional half hour to get to the freeway to begin the commute.

Oddly enough, the onramp was the same one I used to take from my mom’s house, in Daly City!

Go figure.

There used to be the BEST pizza place around Sunset and Taraval…I think it burned down (and rebuilt it, but it was never the same…maybe the pizza guy found another job and didn’t come back)

Pasquale’s. Never forget that place.
Got me thru high school!
