The picture that is shown isn’t the Traffic Circle in Long Beach, California. 43 things randomly picks people’s pictures from flickr that have the same name (even if they aren’t in the same location) and posts them onto here. The picture currently posted really doesn’t do the Long Beach Traffic Circle any justice. The one in Long Beach is waay bigger and waay more traffic goes through it. I don’t have a picture of it and I can’t take one anytime soon since I don’t live in Long Beach anymore. Three main streets meet at the circle (PCH, Lakewood Boulevard, and Los Coyotes Diagonal), which makes for a fun drive. I haven’t really researched anything about hotels, so I’m not sure which ones are good and which ones aren’t.

I guess I will just have to venture out that way and see the traffic circle for myself. In the meantime, I just got back from London where they have LOTS of traffic circles, some they call circuses. So maybe London and Long Beach are sisters under the skin, right?

Here’s a website with some information about the Traffic Circle and it has some pictures too. In the middle of the circle is just a grassy area with trees. I’ve always wanted to just have a picnic there and watch all the first-timers drive around the circle.

Great pictures and info! The design is very European, isn’t it? It makes sense since the designer is European.

I want to go check it out. But there will probably be someone having a picnic there watching me make an idiot of myself in traffic, so I hope I put on a good show for them!
