that was a long time ago, right?! i was in Russia when it was part of the Union. St. Basil’s Cathedral is amazing. it was very different. i wouldn’t mind going back to see where and how things have changed.

A long time ago
I applied for a Russian (Soviet) and Polish visa when I lived in England. I was in the U.S. Air Force, so the odds were stacked against me. I wanted to take a tour that began in Warsaw and went to St. Petersburg, Moscow, Odessa, and then back to Warsaw. My visa was rejected for obvious reasons. Too bad, though, because it would have been a great adventure.

maybe you can try again. or take a “commercial” tour. not the same, but at least you get to see things. good luck.
