The world is a big place, and it’s continuously changing. I think we’re all more or less clueless, ‘cause there’s just so much to know and experience that no one person could possibly know it all. This can be a good thing, too, however, as there’s always something new to discover, out there, no matter how much you’ve seen.
I’m sure Tunisia holds positive experiences for many people, but I just wasn’t one of them. Regardless, feeling in danger of being detained isn’t conducive to a good time, so I’d have marked Tunisia “not worth visiting,” no matter how great it might have been, otherwise.
In contrast, wow, Libya was wonderful. It was still closed to tourists, at the time I visited, so there was no façade put up by any tourist industry, and I didn’t have to search to see the real country and the real people. Even if I’d had to dig, however, it would still have been worth the effort!
