Milwaukee Wanderlust

There’s a lot of nice baseball stadiums in the country…only one has weiner races.

My Father suggested that sometime in the future it would be fun for the CHP to go down to the casino and check the place out and poke around with fifty cent chips.

I have been to this place before, but just drank a few drinks and watched the people dance….I love to dance, but not out in front where everyone can see…..BUT I had a blast on July 8th, 2006! There was a 2-man band (I think they were called the Commadores or something) and they played great music!

I danced so much, IN FRONT, and sweat my butt off for 2 hours straight. I wish I could do that every night: I’d be about 100 lbs!

One of the top 3 ballparks I’ve been in – great sight lines, the lower deck seating areas feel intimate enough to be a minor league park without feeling overcrowded, and nice wide concourses. Clean, too. Only drawback…they serve water and call it beer. This seems to be a Milwaukee thing though. lol.

Even if you can’t make it to an actual game, the park is generally open to wander through during the day. Tours are also available. I don’t live far away so I stop in whenever I’m bored. The place is just amazing, especially given it’s somewhat tainted past.

Try to visit in the early mornings or on some of the summer twilight “zoofari’s” where the zoo stays open past the normal closing hours. During the summer when it’s muggy and hot the animals are less active. Plan a viewing course of the outdoor exhibits and then work on the indoor ones and the farm(maps make plotting easier). It’s worth a little extra walking to avoid staring at sluggish creatures.

Summerfest is the place to go. Free music and excellent food…plus a bunch of drunks to make you smile. It’s a sweaty, loud, drunken, 10 day fiesta. I recommend it!

A little bit of music for everybody for 11 days every June and July. The beer isn’t bad either!
