Savannah Wanderlust

Its worth it. The food is southern down home cooking and the presentation is like no other resturant you will ever visit. You don’t actually order anything but instead many many dishes and sides are set on your table. You will then begin to pass the dishes around until your plate is covered with food. There’s no leaving hungry at Mrs. Wilkes.

They are only open for lunch and only on the weekdays, so plan accordingly.

This restaurant is picture perfect. Its like sitting at a dinner table with your entire family.

this is the last city I lived (i was born and raised in brooklyn,ny and currently living in brooklyn,ny) I lived in savannah for just 3 months, but you will have a good time, the people are friendly.. though I have to say if you plan to move down in Savannah, please make sure you have a car..lol

Tybee is nice, very tourist-y. I loved the other more obscure islands in the area.

I took my wife to Savanna last week end for our 43 wedding anniversary and one of our highlights was to have dinner at the Lady and Sons Resturant. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. The fried green tomatoes were a joke, all bread and no tomato. My wife found a 4 inch string in one of her tomatoes. I had their 2 seafood plate, shrimp and scallops on a bed of fried collard greens with cold slaw and fried potatoes. The only things eatible were 5 shrimp, 6 bay scallops and a table spoon of slaw. Not much for 20 bucks.
Paula and the boys need to spend some time at home running their business. I can’t believe I am the only one that would not go back to the Lady and Sons.

A beautiful, quite place with plenty of lodging, not far from Savannah itself, but seems miles away from the busy feeling of the historic city. Lovely.
