France Wanderlust

I’ve lived here..for 6 months last winter doing the season, its is my singlemost favourite place so far…I’ve been lots before and again since, but nothing is as special as living there for the winter…opening up your window and the first thing you see in the morning is everything covered in snow…it gives you a whole new perspective on life :-)

Not as awesome as I thought it would be. But maybe the next time I’m back it will be better? And actually—the Parisians were not rude too me, as I attempted at French.

It’s one of the most fantastic cities I know. It’s intimate and charming; it has marvellous restaurants; it’s adorable to walk there; it has wonderful shops; has an indescribable light.. I love it.

A great day trip from paris. Never crowded with tourists and the most beautiful cathedral in europe. After visiting Notre Dame with 50,000 of your closest friends you will be shocked to be in an almost empty nave that is twice as tall and twice as bright as Notre Dame. Just make sure not to be there when the Kontiki bus pulls up.

Pretty fun too. Almost every tourist that goes to Paris does it, and most enjoy it. Be aware, I worked in a hotel and we got kickbacks for recommending one specific river cruise company. They are all interchangable, just go on the cheapest one.

Very hard. Very expensive. Very beautiful. It totally sucked living here on 8.50€ a month. But I still love paris and I want to go back.

This was many years ago, but we took the boat over from Dover, I think. I remember it was November. We toured the Opera House, and went to a perfumerie. And buzzed through the Louve. Went up in the Eiffel Tower. I should probably go back!

This might have been mentioned before, but do not miss out on Fenocchio’s ice cream parlour at Place Rosetti. You’ll be amazed at the flavours.

Lovely parks where people enjoy sitting around, reading, talking, kicking a ball around, doing nothing. Crepes with sugar and bananas. Spiral staircases that go on almost forever. Fantastically beautiful buildings, bridges, monuments. The Catacombs. Awesome public transportation. Sitting on the Pont des Arts at night, with all kinds of people, enjoying the evening. The Eiffel tower in person (nice to meet ya). Speaking tiny bits of French (Je ne parle pas tre bien Francais…). Cheese, and the dedication to cheese. Many, many people using bicycles as basic transportation (in regular clothing, and no helmets). The availability and variety of crepes. Less cigarette smoke than I feared.

Super great. Must go back.

but every minute is worth it… a place I enjoy visiting when I get a chance
