Looking for a 2br/2ba, near Metro Ratusz, or Metro Polytechnika (tube stops). I’d like to try to start my research by getting a range, from low to high, on what to expect for something reasonable and safe in the centre. It doesn’t need to be western style luxury. Getting into the local economy pricing like jt196 recommended would be good.

You can forget Western style anything…
There is very little that is even close to resembling Western standards here. Unless you are talking about western Europe…then it is a little closer, but it is nothing like the states.
I live downtown and I am one of the lucky few to live in a building that is less than 10 years old. I have a 2 bedroom with living room and kitchen. We pay $1200 USD per month which is a little high, but then again we have underground parking and great security.
I would not be to concerned with security for Poland is a fairly safe place to be. (Relative to major metro areas in the states or western Eurpoe)
You will find studios to run anywhere from 300 to 500 USD…one bedrooms to run 500-800 and 2 bedrooms are going to run you 700-1200 in the downtown area.
ALSO BE ADVISED…THEY CONSIDER AN APARTMENT WITH A LIVING ROOM AND ONE BEDROOM TO BE A 2 ROOM APARTMENT. I ON THE OTHER HAND WOULD CONSIDER IT TO BE A ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT.
