i’m actually really surprised at the accuracy of all the answers people have written. i would vouch for all of them except for the blacksea coast. it’s a very very beautiful area but because of the lack of foreign tourism it can be quite inconvenient for someone who doesn’t speak turkish.

bitez is a part of bodrum(the st tropez of turkey woohoo) and is still surprisingly very beautiful and untouched(bitez mind you, not the rest of bodrum)It looks a bit like sardinia. the beaches are nice and good for windsurfing as well. but it’s important to plan ahead and find a nice hotel or a little house to rent if you could. otherwise there’s a big chance you may end up getting caught in one of the many tourist traps of bodrum.

datca and kas are both very close to what you seem to want, very calm with nice beaches. olympos and butterfly valley are great too but they’re mostly for students who don’t mind the accomodations, so if you’re into the whole ‘smoke by the fire and meet new people’ kind of thing i would say go for it..

enjoy!

Hello,

I highly recommend you Datça. Datça is situated between the mediterranean and the aegean seas, it is a peninsula and one of the two most wonderful places i’ve seen in Turkey. You can reach there by plane, first you have to come to Istanbul and then from Istanbul, you have to go to Dalaman Airport, after that there are many buses and midi-buses to take people to Datça. It is like the little islands in Italy or Greece. The weather is so clean and there are many great places serving fresh meals. The sea is absolutely wonderful, it’s so clean. And lastly, there is an antique city called “Knidos”, gosh you can.t guess how awesome it is, after seeing that I decided to do degrees in archeology. It is really wonderful. I came from Datça two days ago so I can tell many places to accommodate, eat and see, I’d be glad if you contact.

thank you very much. I think you got my point and the description of Datca seems exactely what I’m looking for. If you have any suggestions for accomodations (confort, cosy, small) I’d be happy.

thank you again
