Okay, these might be considered “touristy” by some, but I think a couple of definite places to see in Seattle are:
1) Pike Place Market
2) Woodland Park Zoo
3) Gas Works Park
4) Washington State Ferry
5) Summer Nights at the Pier
6) The Fremont Troll (Under the Aurora Avenue Bridge - sometimes called the George Washington bridge - at N. 36th Street)
These are fun & fairly cheap (if not free).
A fantastic place to eat is the Cactus Restaurant (4220 E Madison St; Seattle, WA 98112; 206-324-4140). “mix of Southwest, Mexican and Latin flavors.” Go during the week, not quite as crowded. Two people eating, with alcohol, plan to spend about $60. I’m quite frugal, but I found this place to be worth the money.
