The UK is a fantastic place with lots of variety. The big question is what sort of things do you like to do?

If you’re there in August, I’d suggest a trip up to Edinburgh for the fringe festival (http://www.edfringe.com/).

If you like museums and galleries, there are plenty of things to see in London and surrouding areas. If you like old castles and forts – Scotland is the place to be. Same if you like your scotch.

If you like to party, I’d suggest a stop in Newcastle while you’re going up to Edinburgh.

If you want to see English countryside, I’d suggest the Lake District, or the Scottish Highlands.
