“I want to go to Haida Gwaii in December. I am thinking of going for a week or two if possible, and I would like to stay with a community there, rather than shack up in a hostel. How hard is it to get into Gwaii Haanas? How can I learn more before I go?”

Dear god! Why December? It’s rainy rainy rainy there in December. Also, getting to Gwaii Haanas in winter might be very difficult with storms and such.

Well, I wasn’t planning on going for the weather. It works out with some other plans I have for around that time, as I’m hoping to head further down to the Sunshine Coast and over to the Island for Christmas. See, it seems like a plan anyway. Do you have any advice, though?
