It really depends on where you live. Some areas are VERY light rail accessible, some, not so much. I’ve used the bus service in a limited capacity, and it actually seems pretty decent. Just be sure that the maps you get are the most recent… they’ve been doing some route changes lately, and I got stuck waiting for a bus that didn’t exist anymore one day. :)

Also I was thinking of buying a cycle. I think it will let me move around for distances less than 5-6miles? Are the roads condusive to cycling around? for how much can I get a cycle over there(purchase)

No clue on bike costs. Sorry… If you’re downtown, a bike should be fine, but it’s a BIG freakin city.

Yes, the roads are good for biking. You can carry your bike in the trains and buses also. Though in some big and busy streets, you may have to bike on the pavement.

You can get a new bike for any budget($60-$1000, go to Walmart for the cheapest ones), but a good second hand bike should cost around $75.
