I grew up in South Dakota, and have, for the most part, seen everything there is to see! I grew up in Mitchell, which is on the eastern border, just west of Sioux Falls. I loved it there, I really did, but other than the Corn Palace, there’s not much to see there! The best place to go is out west to the Black Hills! There is so much to see there!!! The Badlands, Wall Drug, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and of the number of caverns and mines that are available, Dinosaur Park (my favorite), Custer State Park, Deadwood, Sturgis. You get the picture! One of my favorite places to visit in the hills was Keystone! Not much to it, in fact it really is mostly a tourist trap, but I loved it, and still go there every time I make a trip to the hills!
Really, there is so much to see there, that you could just wander around for several days, have a great time, and still not see a fraction of what there is to see there!
I hope you get a chance to go, and have a great time!!!!!!!
Oh, and as for places to eat, try AJ’s. My aunt used to work there, and it was great! I don’t remember a lot of other places we ate out at, as my uncle was a chef, and mostly he cooked for us when we were there. We did used to go to the Great Wall when I was a kid, but I think it burned down or something like that!
