The first time I went on it, I remember waiting in line and hearing the “SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!” spiel (at that time it was the tallest coaster on earth). That really got me pumped up, because then there’d be an engine noise revving up like a dragster. Then, when I got into the station they played the rides theme song “Baby I’m Ready To Go” which got me even more fired up. Finally, it was my turn to get in. I sat in there with the lap bar down and holding on to it. Then, finally we started rolling forward out of the station, then we sat there. Waiting. Then the ‘prep lights’ came on, and then before I knew it it was YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW GREEN and we flew. I swear, that ride has so much inertia in it. I felt like I’d fly through the back of the seat! Before I knew it, we were vertical and twisting, then, at the top, we slowed down, so I got to get a good view for just a few seconds. Then we went flying down the tower to end the ride.
If you’re afraid of heights, don’t be too afraid of this ride. You’re only up that high for like 5 (at the most) seconds. But then again, a train for Top Thrill Dragster got stuck up there more than once.
I recommend riding it. You’ll love it. It’s extremely safe, and they’ve had most of all the bugs worked out of it. (C’mon, it was an Intamin A.G. Prototype)
