Greetings!
I worked for Raytheon Polar Services last season at McMurdo Station and am heading back in October. I did data entry for the cargo system and I’m fairly sure that the observatory is actually at Columbia University. I know that I sent a lot of samples and other forms of cargo to it over the course of the season. However, there are ways to get employment in Antarctica and one of the best ways is to go to www.usap.gov and click on job opportunities. There are quite a few listed online, but there are far more available that aren’t listed there. If you’re REALLY serious about it, you’d be better off heading to Denver for the job fair (usually a weekend at the beginning of April). Thousands of people apply for these jobs and there are only a few hundred positions available. Seriously….the job fair at RPSC (Raytheon Polar Services Company) in Centennial, CO is your best shot!
Good luck!
