Holland Village

Thanks Mandys :-)…Yes she is quite right on her recommendation…Let’s see, The Singapore Night Safari Zoo is a definite MUSTSEE..Sentosa Island, Cable Car to/from Sentosa Island & Mt. Faber(where e “Amazing Race” was shot), Orchard Rd(its a long stretch of shopping & Singapore Tourism Board is located there), Holland Village, Chinatown is quite interesting though most of e ppl who hang at that area are not really locals(alot are from China & Malaysia)..if you like night life then there is Crazy horse Paris(orginally from Paris, moulin rouge), Ministry of Sound..etc(these night clubs can be found in Clark Quay & Boat Quay area where lots of clubbing & dinning are gathered here)..

Singapore Brand Night Club-“Zouk” is around the corner, not too far away :)

SORRY, I forgot 1 more interesting one, which is “Little India”!

And if you like Museum & ARTSY stuff, I would recommend you to go to city hall area..where you could find a few musuems located there..include the Art Musuem, National Musuem, …then at that area, you could also find “Chimjes”(old church which has converted to exquisite dinning area, its pretty romantic place to go)..and Raffles Hotel is at the opp.(thats where Singapore Sling is created from)!

Also not to forget the “Elizabeth Walk” area that links to the “Anderson Bridge” where you could find “Empress Place”(they’re now having an exhibition of China Acient Dragon Robe collection till april 06..& S.E.A & Indian art exhibit are in there too)..and side by side there’s Victoria Theatre(for concerts). Also outside e museum, you could find tons of Cafe & restaurants nearby along the Singapore River!

(One tip on getting FREE entry to the Musuems is to go during Public Holiday time)

And 1 more historical place to visit is the “Fort Canning”!

You could take our subway system(MRT) to these places that I just recommended and they are all very close by to one another..or so many air con buses(with T.V. inside) could take you to most places that you want.

For myself, I do like the Tanglin area & Suntec City( they’re all not too far from Orchard Rd & City Hall area), which they have nice UNDERGROUND shopping.

The Botanic Garden(near Tanglin area) that ruthiebabes71 has recommended is pretty nice to me too :-) …They do have FREE outdoor music concert at times…

If you do come around public holiday time, try visit the ISTANAHOUSE where the president(he’s india origin too) would have an open house invitation to the public…I met him twice already :) The surrounding garden is simply beautiful!

Anyway, the major fast food joint is found everywhere in the world now..not just in Singapore. You could find alot more interesting local food joint in all parts of Singapore island actually..most buildings have at least a food court inside, & e food are cheap & very clean :-)
