If you could only choose one winery, and one restaurant, which would you recommend? and why? Thanks!

For food: The French Laundry. It’s often picked as best restaurant in the country, and that’s well deserved. You usually have to make reservations 6 months in advance so this would only work if you can plan far ahead.

Much easier is the Culinary Institute at Greystone. Amazing setting in a huge stone building, the food is some of the best I’ve ever had and the the staff is wonderful. You should call ahead at least a few weeks in advance for this one.

Sadly, we’re going to be in the area in a few weeks, so The French Laundry seems best left for the next visit. But I’ll try making reservations at the Culinary Institute at Greystone.
