Yes, I am a big believer of keeping a fake wallet in my pocket with just a little cash. I also travel with pants that contain velcro pockets or cargo pockets: the guy in this case went for the wrong pocket, assuming it was in the rear one. In my fake wallet I keep some expired credit cards and a little bit of cash to make it look realistic. I also put some highly offensive pornography pictures in there, as revenge in case someone does take my wallet :)

But I digress. I was in Ethiopia for about 2 weeks and definitely had a good time on the whole. It was at the time the most sore-thumb of a visitor I’d been. Ethiopians make a really big deal about Caucasians being in the vicinity, so it was my opportunity to see what a superstar like Britney Spears must feel like when she tries to walk down the street. Take it in stride and do your best to ignore it when you’re not in the mood for it.
