United States: California: Joshua Tree National Park

A question about this place:
If I started out early (7 AM-ish) from Indio and had to leave around noon, would I be able to enjoy enough of the park to make the drive from LA reasonable?

I think you’re wasting your time to just go for half the day. In fact, arguably the best time to go would be as the sun is going down. There are so much to do… sure, you could rush through it but it’s make much more sense to take it all in and then leave after sunset!

I can’t rearrange the schedule. I’m traveling on the company’s dime and trying to squeeze out some fun while I’m at it. And yes, I know more time would be better, but…

If that is all you could fit in then I would personally recommend it. Just do a little research before you go to maximize your time there. On the bright side you’ll beat most of the heat!
