1) If you want to go to the New Territories, go to the Chi Lin Nunery and the Temple of 10,000 Buddhas. The Temple of 10,000 Buddhas is incredible. There are actually 13,000 buddhas there. It’s in Sha Tin in the New Territories. If you go, there aren’t a lot of signs. We ended up in a cemetery. If there’s an escalator, it’s a cemetery.

2) Peking Garden in Alexendra House in Central. This is Chinese style eating and the dishes are designed to serve the whole table. The beggar’s chicken is awesome, but you have to order it 24 hours in advance. ...And smash it open with a golden mallet.

3) The Jumbo in Aberdeen on Hong Kong Island. It’s a giant boat restaurant. It’s gaudy, it’s touristy, it’s still awesome. Make reservations for The Top Deck.

4) The Tan Tian Buddha on Lantau Island. The world’s largest outdoor Buddha, it’s crazy. It’s gotten really built up now, which is kind of sad, but the cable cars above the water on the way there are pretty cool (at least better than that bus ride…)

5) And for those who love the bizarre, go to Modern Toilet Restaurant on Kowloon!! You’ve probably seen it on CNN or in Time.com. It’s the diner where you sit on toilets, drink out of urinals, and eat food that looks like a bowel movement. It’s in Mong Kok.
