A GREAT resource to use would be couchsurfing.com. That way you could meet a local, get advice and maybe even have a place to crash while you look for a place. Check it out.

BTW – you probably want to live in PB or OB. my bad…Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach. I’d recommend PB unless you’re a real hippie or smoke weed every single day – in that case you’d probably like OB better.
