Visit lots of art galleries, especially at SCAD and the downtown market. Walk through all the squares and Forsyth park (don’t take a tour bus). Eat at Il Pasticcio, Vinnie Van Go-Go’s, the Firefly Cafe, and Nita’s Place. Drink at Pinkie Master’s.

Yeah, I haven’t lived here long enough to know “off the beaten path”, really. However, I’ve visited many pubs and bars here. I especially like The Rail, near City Market, where you’ll find “Spirits & Spirits”. Tybee Island is a great place to walk at night, especially near the Tybee Times, where you can get an extremely strong frozen drink. The beach is great, especially at night, when there aren’t many people walking around. The Hangfire, near Whitaker and Congress, is cool, as well. The Mellow Mushroom, close to Liberty and Bull, has great pizza and an incredible beer selection. It’s a chain restaurant, though, no matter how local it seems. You can find it on Google Maps. In fact, check out the Google Maps search for “Beer Taverns near Savannah, GA”. If you want to go a little bit out of the way, or are on your way to Tybee, then stop in Thunderbolt, for Tubby’s Tankhouse, where you can eat and drink outside. It’s really hoppin’ on Thursday nights. If you need more info from me, then go ahead and message me on gmail (docrivs).
