When you say warm do you mean hot? If you just mean warm like 70’s or 80’s you want to head out in the spring. It is pretty nice in April and May. Also, early fall is beautiful plus you get the leaves changing in October. If you are not used to humidity you probably don’t want to attempt summer. It is quite hot and humid. You might be interested in the 18th and Vine jazz district for music, the Plaza for high end shopping, Westport for food, coffee and drinks and the Power and Light district for nightlife. Also, if you like BBQ you MUST check out Arthur Bryant’s downtown. Do go during the day for lunch though. If you like flea markets the downtown flea market is pretty awesome and has some yummy eats as well as an awesome farmers market. Also, another point of interest might be Lawrence. It is about 45m west of KC. It is a great college town with fun local shopping and excellent local food. The Nelson Atkins Gallery is pretty cool as well as the Science Museum in Union Station. If you go in the late summer or early fall you can check out Starlite outdoor theater. Also in that area is the zoo. If you tell me what kind of food you are looking for I can give more suggestions. I lived there for 24 years so I am pretty familiar with the area ;)

Yes – temps in the 80s. I’d like to wander around in summer dresses or shorts.
I love reading Calvin Trillin so I’m happy to see your recommendation for Arthur Bryant’s :)

You will want to check out mid to late spring for 80’s. Just remember that if it is too late in the Spring that it will be HUMID! :) If you need anything else feel free to ask. I can post tons of stuff but want to make sure it is guided by what you are interested in. Enjoy and you are quite welcome!
