A question about this place:
I'm going with my husband and my children to Mt. Fuji area. I don't harbor illusions that we are going to make it to the summit. Rather, we'd just like to do a day hike. Should we hike for a bit along the trail to the summit or do something else?

Go for it! I have videos up that show little Japanese kids, probably 5 and 6 years old chugging right along.
