A question about this place:
My husband and I are going to Toronto in August (last there in 2001). We have a couple of guide books but would love to know about places to eat and things to do that might be a little off the beaten path-places not listed in the average travel guide

My husband and I are omnivores, love diners, and are suckers for anything kitschy or old school.

We went to both the Royal Museum and the Ontario Gallery of Art back in ‘01, and would love to make return visits to both.

Does that mean comfort food?

Yes – comfort food works for us, but not just in the ‘meatloaf and mashed potatoes’ sense. We like places that have a “mom’s in the kitchen cooking” vibe, especially with different types of cuisine.
