I love Montreal, I was living there for 10 years!
Montreal is great, but you should definitly go to Quebec city, in the old port. Its 3 hours drive from Montreal and I highly recommend that you go at least for 2 days, you will love the old capital. They are celebreting their 400 years of discovery this year and a lot activities are going on.
In Montreal, you should definitly go in the old port also. There is a lot of activities going on there.

I’ve been to Quebec City too!!! But I went when I was like 12. I wanted to go there but I have to drive cuz my husband doesnt want to (he’s a truck driver and he’ll be coming home Friday from a trip so he doesnt want to drive). Montreal is only 5 1/2 hrs whereas Quebec is an 8 hour drive. I thought about making a day trip to Quebec on Sunday or something but when i looked online I thought it said like 7 hours or something. Maybe me and him can go to ottawa cuz its only 2 1/2 hrs. We’ll see.

Quebec City is only 2.5-3 hours from Montreal… if you wanted to go there during your time in Mtl (but don’t drive straight from QC – Mass… it’s too long).
