A question about this place:
Perhaps I should do this as a question. Can anyone suggest some of the more budget-friendly rentals on the Oregon coast? What itinerary or accomodations might you suggest for a 20th anniversary coastal trip? We live on one income with four children, so

Hi Mejaka,

When I was a kid (in the early ‘90s) my family stayed at the Viking’s cottages in Nye Beach right next to Newport. I still remember them fondly. They are adorable little 1920’s cottages right on the cliff and about $100 a night. I think they all sleep 4-6. Here’s the website: http://www.vikingsoregoncoast.com/Vikings/index.htm. Thanks. Sadly, when I went to the site I learned that the cottages will be torn down in the spring. Heartbreaking, really…they’re almost a hundred years old.
